Love is the work
We make one thing: a way for the people who loved someone to say so. Every choice we make starts there, from the questions we ask to the music we choose.
Our story
Dearly began with one wish: that everyone who loved someone could say so, and that their family could keep every word.
Jack, founder of Dearly
If you're planning a celebration of someone's life right now, you're probably carrying more than anyone realizes. Let me carry one part of it for you. Maybe the most meaningful part.
Hi, I'm Jack, the founder of Dearly. Here's how it works. You share one link with everyone who loves them. Family, old friends, the people scattered across the country who wish they could do something. Each person records a short video message from their phone. A story, a memory, or the thing they've always wanted to say. And then our studio turns all those voices into one beautiful film about their life.
Here's what surprises families most. It isn't only the film. It's that everyone who records a message gets to do something with their love. And everyone watching sees just how far this one life reached.
We will refine the film until it feels exactly like them. If it's anything less than extraordinary, you'll receive a full refund and you can keep the film. That's the Dearly promise.
Also, no family is ever turned away here. If cost is the only thing standing in your way, please write to me and we will make it work.
All you do is share the link and we take care of everything else. Because Dearly was never intended to just be a film studio. It's our way of making sure everyone gets to hear how deeply they're loved. And everyone gets the joy of saying it.
What we believe
Everything we make begins with 1 Corinthians 13. Here is what it asks of us, and what every family can expect in return.

We make one thing: a way for the people who loved someone to say so. Every choice we make starts there, from the questions we ask to the music we choose.

Five people or five hundred, near and far. Everyone who loved them is welcome to take part.

Every family receives the same film. A family that pays less waits a little longer on our standby list, and a family that can pay nothing still receives their film.
How the standby list works
You’ll love your film. If you don’t, we’ll remake it as many times as you like, or refund you in full, and you keep everything we made.
The Dearly Promise
Organizers see every message. Messages left out of the film stay private to the person who recorded them and the organizers. And there is never advertising in anything a family receives.

One price, $1,200. No subscriptions and no upsells. A real person finishes every film.

1 Corinthians 13
1If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a ringing gong or a clanging cymbal.
2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have absolute faith so as to move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
3If I give all I possess to the poor and exult in the surrender of my body, but have not love, I gain nothing.
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs.
6Love takes no pleasure in evil, but rejoices in the truth.
7It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be restrained; where there is knowledge, it will be dismissed.
9For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
10but when the perfect comes, the partial passes away.
11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I set aside childish ways.
12Now we see but a dim reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love; but the greatest of these is love.
